Social Event

Thursday evening from 5:30-6:30, a reception is planned in the Marlo Thomas Center Atrium. The Conference will provide hors d’oeuvres, beverages and a great time for networking. 

Continuing Pharmacy Education Credits

Total number of contact hours (CEUs) available for attending this event will be made available the day of the event and will be based on the total number of speaker registrants. Complete details will be contained within the registration booklets available the day of the event. Total number of credit hours awarded for each registrant will be based on the total number of presentation sessions attended for the event.


ACCREDITATION:  St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Pharmaceutical Department, is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education.  Pharmacy continuing education credit will be available to all participants who attend, sign in, and complete presenter evaluation forms. Please note: no paper credit certificates will be provided to participants. Instead, all credits obtained will be loaded into the website and viewable within three weeks following the conference.

Preceptor Information

Preceptors attending the conference have a great opportunity to contribute as a moderator or evaluator. All preceptors are needed and encouraged to volunteer. Every effort will be made to accommodate special requests so your slot is not scheduled during your resident's presentation. The time commitment is typically a single session (during four or five 15-minute presentations) at some point during the two-day meeting.

Disclosure of Conflict of Interest 

As the provider of CPE credit, St. Jude assesses conflicts of interest with its faculty and resident speakers who are in a position to control the content of CPE activities. All identified potential conflicts of interest are thoroughly reviewed for balance, scientific objectivity of studies used in the activity, and patient care recommendations. The MidSouth Pharmacy Residents Conference and St. Jude are committed to providing a unique CPE learning forum that promotes improvements in healthcare and the sharing or exchanging of innovative patient care ideas and research concepts in pharmaceutical care. 

Meeting for Moderators

A brief meeting for all moderators and evaluators will be held Thursday morning, immediately prior to the conference. The purpose of this meeting is to communicate details regarding the moderation of the sessions and evaluation of the presenters. All moderators and evaluators are strongly encouraged to attend.

Resident Presentations

The conference consists of several distinct, concurrent sessions, each with 5-6 concurrent presentations active in separate rooms. The rooms will have presentations on common themes so that preceptors and residents with a specific interest might be able to stay in one room throughout the session. Each resident has 15 minutes allocated for their presentation (rule of thumb: 12 minutes for their presentation and 3 minutes for questions). There are 5 minutes between presentations to make it possible for individuals to easily move to the next presentation.
