The Marlo Thomas Center for Global Education and Collaboration on the St. Jude campus sits atop the world’s first proton therapy center designed for, and dedicated solely to, the treatment of children. The center also serves as a training and education resource for St. Jude postdoctoral and graduate fellows on their way to becoming tomorrow’s scientific and medical leaders.

Unique features of the center include a state-of-the-art medical library, two auditoriums, seating 75 and 400, and meeting rooms where doctors and researchers can work collaboratively, consulting on cases and sharing information and research with health care professionals around the globe.

ENTRANCE TO CAMPUS - MUST READ!

St. Jude requires ALL who to enter campus to be on a "visitor registration" list prior to arrival, as well as show a valid photo ID. For the safety of our patients and families, no one is granted entry to campus if they are not on this list and/or do not have a valid photo ID. Names will be sent to security after registration closes on April 3, 2017. Because of this institutional security policy, we are unable to accept any registrations the day of the event.

Reservations can be made by calling the hotel or using the link below.  The last day to make reservations at the discounted conference rate is March 20, 2017.  After this date, any unreserved rooms will be released to the public. Please reference “Mid-South Regional Pharmacy Residents Conference” to receive the conference rate of $99.00 (plus tax) per night. This special rate is applicable for the evenings of Wednesday, April 19, 2017 and Thursday, April 20, 2017.

Shuttle Services

St. Jude will provide exclusive shuttle service to and from The Marlo Thomas Center and the hotel on April 20th and 21st. Exact times TBD, however, the shuttle will run for 12 hour shifts on both days. The hotel is approximately 3 minutes from St. Jude.

Additional Educational Opportunities

All materials must be submitted no later than March 17, 2017, no exceptions.  

Please note, each Research Project Description will be in the conference book exactly as submitted.  Descriptions must be formatted as a Word document for uploading to this website.  Residents are encouraged to ensure all grammar, punctuation, and capitalization are reviewed before uploading the final document.

Important: Please follow the guidelines outlined below.

Research Project Description Guidelines:

1.  Please adhere to the following standards:

  • Margins: Top 1", Bottom 1", Left 1.25", Right 1" 

  • Font: Arial, 11pt, single space 

  • Title: Limited to 2 lines of text (short, specific titles are preferred) 

  • Authors' name(s), affiliation, city and state are limited to 3 lines of text (do not use degrees or titles). Presenter's name must be underlined 

  • The remaining sections must be included, and collectively must be 250 words or less. The section names must be typed in bold print.

    • Background/Purpose, Presentation Objective, Self-Assessment Question

2.  The Presentation Objective and Self-Assessment Question are required to assure ACPE accreditation for continuing education credit.

3.  The Presentation Objective represents a fundamental learning concept that the audience should be able to demonstrate after the presentation.

4.  The Self-Assessment Question is a question to test the audience's knowledge of a key aspect from your presentation. It needs to be incorporated into the final slide and should be addressed by the presenter along with other questions from the audience.

5.  Only Word documents will be accepted.

MPRC Presenters:

This notification is to provide guidelines for preparation of your slides for the MidSouth Pharmacy Residents Conference.

UAN Number: Each presentation will be assigned a unique Universal Activity Number (UAN) that is issued by ACPE. You will receive the UAN for your presentation in a separate email.

Requirements: For ACPE purposes, there are specific items that MUST be included within your presentation: the UAN, a statement regarding conflicts of interest or financial disclosures, one learning objective and one self-assessment question. We recommend the following order:

  • Title slide: with UAN, name & affiliation of presenter, and a statement regarding conflicts of interests/financial disclosures
  • Learning objective and assessment question. Please use the assessment question already provided within your abstract.
  • Background to the project/study
  • Goal/objective(s) for the project/study
  • Methods employed
  • Results
  • Conclusions
  • Audience response question: re-list the same assessment question, with multiple choice answers (audience will raise their hand to participate)
  • Answer to question

Length of Presentation: Not to exceed 12 minutes total. A good rule of thumb is 12 minutes for presentation and 3 minutes for questions. If you exceed 15 minutes, you will be asked to conclude immediately by the moderator. 

YOU ARE REQUIRED TO UPLOAD YOUR SLIDES PRIOR TO YOUR PRESENTATION. THERE ARE TWO DIFFERENT WAYS TO LOAD:

  1. EMAIL: Beginning Monday, April 10, 2017, you may email your COMPLETE and FINAL presentation to camille.doty@stjude.org.  NO CHANGES may be made once your presentation has been emailed. Note: once you have emailed your presentation, you cannot load an updated version at the conference - emailed submissions are FINAL. Early submission will save you time the morning of your presentation!

  2. ONSITE: Loading onsite via flash drive: If you are scheduled to present on Thursday, April 20,  you will upload Thursday morning beginning at 10:00. If you are scheduled to present on Friday, April 21, you will may begin loading Thursday evening at 5:30 and Friday morning beginning at 6:30. Specific uploading times and locations are listed on the agenda.
